We stayed here 3 nights as it was the only place we could get 4 rooms in town. i was pleasantly surprised at the conditions of the rooms. they were renovated clean and warm. they must have either a hot water on demand system or a large boiler because two of my guys said they stood in the shower for 20mins in their rooms to warm up after working in-30c weather all day. there is a restaurant attached to the motel that is very good and reasonably priced food. We will be staying there again if we come back to work in Wabasca
Ok. Lots to discuss here. So I was not expecting what I received with this place. The exterior is ho-hum. But I was impressed with my room. The kitchen was awesome!! The bathroom was a really good size. Good size TV. I loved the extra ply toilet paper. The room was clean. Loved the hooks and hangers at the front door. I was in room 114. Was very quiet till about 5:45 am. The trucks started moving through town so you can hear them breaking and taking off at the 4 way stop and the working guests start to leave about 6am-630am...so back up keepers. No fault of the Inn's, just an observation. The bathroom has a real fan...so you have a way to have some background noise. The bed is small. I believe it was a double. Im 5'11 and to sleep on the diagonal to stop my toes from hanging over. Mattress was soft and comfortable. If you like a firm mattress...probably wont like it. Don't mind my chair in front of the door in my photo...I do that at every hotel. The location is good. A gas station is right beside the Inn. There is a grocery store right across the street. Also a liquor store...if you are into that. There is a restaurant called the Oldtown restaurant and Pub. The food I had was ok...but the guys across from me were eating burgers that looked awesome! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Parking for larger vehicles is limited(like busses, semi and such). The rooms have no clocks...you have to rely on your phone to see what time it is when you sleep. The Inn was pretty full so the room price was $189 plus tax. I cant say if thats high or low because I didnt look at prices elsewhere in town. The room was booked by my company. So to sum it up... I would stay here again.
Staff are super nice, they just opened up a restaurant inside as well. They were very accommodating when we wanted to make some refunds partway through our stay. It's a hotspot for bums and vagrants, but it's the best value in town.
Room was clean. Got up late for complimentary breakfast, food was scarce/run out.
